In a country wisely governed, the people are content. They do not waste time gossiping, or inventing labor-saving machines.
Dearly loving their homes and families, they travel little. There are boats and wagons, but these do not go far.
There may be weapons, but nobody ever uses them. There may be unexplored territories, but no-one wants to chart them.
Even though the neighboring country is so close by, that the people hear roosters crowing and dogs barking, they are content to die of old age, without ever having gone to see it.
